DEGREE SHOW 2020
FINE ART
The Fine Art section of the degree show BLOOM showcases the work of single and combined honours students. These are students who have studied Fine Art as a single discipline and those who have studied Fine Art alongside a secondary subject such as Graphic Design, Photography, French, Spanish, Drama and Theatre Studies, Education Studies or English Literature.
The work in the exhibition is the result of a programme that is predominantly practice based whilst being informed and underpinned by contextual and theoretical research. You will see examples of work from the five media areas that operate within the programme including printmaking, painting and drawing, sculpture, textiles and lens based and digital media, alongside examples of cross disciplinary and interdisciplinary modes of contemporary practice.
Each student has developed their own personal visual language by generating and testing visual ideas and concepts, experimenting with materials, methods and techniques. Over the course of the three year programme students have developed into autonomous visual practitioners, ready to make their mark on the contemporary art world or move into the creative and cultural industries.
